Evgeny Starodubtsev: Piano Recital

Evgeny Starodubstev is a Russian pianist has a solo recording label of the Honens International piano competition in Calgary Alberta. Starting as a kid he is particularly excited by modern music he even has work from the 1960's and the 1920's. The type of music he plays is Neo-Classical parodied with 1920's pop music, dazzlinging the crowds with classical yet modernized. Other works include Szymasnowski, Hindemith, Schoenberg, and Stravinky. The music is elusive, restless music covered with the piano. Evgeny is an inspiration to musicians in thorought Russia today. 

Russian soldiers to be woken with 'pleasant music' ahead of elections

Russia's one million strong army ruled by Vladimir Putin is expecting a vote to cut funds parliamentary elections, as they listen to pleasant music on their ways to the polls. The officials at the defense ministry offers to feed a celibitary breakfast before going to the polls. "The army is a well-controlled, conservative, patriotic institution, and Putin is seen as a (security forces officer) who impresses officers and embodies the understanding of a professional soldier and a good leader," said Mikhail Barabanov

Yandex Rallies On Music Integration With Facebook

A Russian music service called Yandex Musika was launched in september 2010 is a free  music sharing website where Facebook friends can click on tracks and listen without any registration. the main point of this article is to show how Facebook is influencing the music world of russia. YNDX is up ninety-three cents four and a half percent to twenty one dollars and eighty one cents according to the telegraph a part of the moscow news.

From ritual village songs to the Sugar Plum Fairy

The Pushkin house takes off a series of master classes on December 15. The popular Mazika duo combiners gypsy violin with haunting Russian folk songs. Mazika singer and accordion player will play unconventional music along with violinist Sarah Harrison. Going back centuries, Polina Proutskova beyond the surface of russian culture she spent years working on music in Russia and was a women's activist. accompanied with dance her lyrics were in official soviet style with modern twist. The Russian Orthodox Christmas is celebrate on January 6.

Ballet Idaho's The Nutcracker

The russian interpretation of the "Nutcracker" an infamous American christmas tradition, includes different renditions while keeping a close American connection. An extensive ballet set, directed by Peter Anastos, and the music of Peter Illyach Tchaikovsky, who also produced the music for Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Romeo and Juliet. The ballet is based around dancing holiday confections--in Act II, Spanish Chocolate, Chinese Tea, Arabian Coffee, French Marzipan, Russian Nougat, Salt Water Taffy Sailors and the Dewdrop Fairy all perform for Clara, the girl whose dream is the main plot of the story. This rendition is being performed by Ballet Idaho, yet every company performs the ballet different. Over the last 100 years and little bits the Nutcracker is a holiday favorite.

An American Dancer Makes a Leap to the Russian Stage

David Hallberg who is 29 from San Diego is the first American  to be named a principal dancer at the Bolshoi Balle in russia. When he arrived to Moscow he was given an apartment a few blocks from the theater. Dacid did not really have much of a socail communication with others when he first got there. All he had was a book that he has been reading and his works. Later that week he made his debut at the Bolshoi Theater which he was Albrecht in "Giselle".

Digital Collection of Russian Music

"Memory of Russia," is a project from 2005 which the Russian State Library has been digitizing their rare and valuable printed music from the first half of the nineteenth century. They are discovering works of great art in design and also finding that little of this music has been reprinted since that time. This project will make available to users a greater breadth of Russian music and history than has been hitherto available.
